All civilizations that have been established in the Bosphorus for centuries have sought solutions for practical transitions between the two sides. . . These searches continued after Istanbul was conquered by the Ottoman State. . The first project in the Ottoman era was by Leonardo Da Vinci. It was presented to Beyazıt Han. In the last period of the Ottoman, project proposals from different countries were sent to the Ottoman State. The most famous of these is the French engineers in 1891 and the US engineers in 1902. It is the tube passage projects it offers to Abdülhamit Han. II. Abdülhamit Han started to prepare the tunnel projects as soon as he entered the throne, but the projects had to be suspended when the famous 93 War (1876 Ottoman-Russian War) broke out. Abdülhamit Han, who attaches great importance to communication and transportation in terms of the management and security of the state, made telegraph lines up to Yemen in the Ottoman lands and planned to connect the provinces to Istanbul. In addition, he had the railroads extending to Baghdad, Damascus and Hejaz. He was planning to connect these railways to the European side by building a tube passage in Istanbul. The Haydarpaşa Station was built and put into service that the reign of Abdülhamit Han ended with the declaration of the 2nd Constitutional Era and the coup of the Unionists. With this coup, Abdülhamit Han's projects were also in history. The Eurasia tunnel, the foundation of which was laid by the Ak Party Government in 2011, will be opened on December 20, 2016, with the honor of our President. It will be the second tunnel in Istanbul after Marmaray. II. Due to the fact that Abdülhamit Han has a project, the name of the tunnel is attributed to him.
